About Us

What is the Hopper-Turing Society?

The Hopper-Turing Society is a small club of computer science students at Concord University in Athens, West Virginia. We are named after both Allen Turing, the man who broke the code created by the Enigma Machine in WWII, and Grace Hopper, the creator of COBOL. Every member in the Hopper-Turing Society has a distinct passion for code. We meet every Thursday is S105 and are always looking for new members.

What does the Hopper-Turing Society do?

The Hopper-Turing Society works together to learn and do projects. This website, for example, is a project we worked together on. We also learn about other topics such as web scraping, hydrponic setups, different Github tools, and other fun things relating to technology. We learn these topics from a variety of people such as other club members, alumni, and professors. This Neocities website taught students in the Hopper-Turing Society how to use HTML and CSS. This project was run by Sarah Lambert, a student and officer in the Hopper-Turing Society.
